"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."

This proverb means when you want to achieve your goals, even thought your goals will be doing slower or longer, it is better than you give up and don't reach your goals. For example, some people study quite slow, but they remember things in detail and longer. Others study quick, but then they forget everything. Overall, the value of the proverb is to be patient, and not give up things no matter how long it takes.

I was lucky person that i had a lot advices from my beloved mother, but the best advice that i received from her when i did not obey and said something bad to my father. I wanted to buy a new bicycle when i studied in middle school. My father did not agree because it was dangerous when riding bicycle by myself and while he took me to and rode me home everyday. Thus, I got angry and did not talk to him for several days. My mom said that: when you treat and say something bad to others, you have firstly to put you in their situation and wonder what do you feel. Also, she said that i could buy anything i want, but your parents that you have only one whatever who they are. Finally, i ran to my father and apologized for my fault, but he was not angry and forgave me. I realized that parents give their children a large field of grapes, yet children can not give back to them a bunch of grapes.

I have to agree that American food is really delicious. However, delicious is usually equal with fat and rich calories. Moreover, American foods usually have lot of cheese to make dishes more tastes. Thus, it is the reason behind of gain weight. Also, the size of dishes are quite large and there are more meat than vegetable. Some restaurants give free beverage drink. Therefore, that leads to over nutrition in each dishes. However, consuming less or much nutrition depends on people's awareness. They need to know how much calories they consume, as well as, combine doing exercise to burn redundant fat. To me, if someone say: let's go to American, i would think about steak and ribs which i really enjoy.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." An optimistic person is always calm and has positive thoughts even in difficult situations. They never give up and believe that " every exit is an entry to somewhere else", Although they do things unsuccessful, they just think it's a lesson that they have to endeavour more and won't make mistakes again. Nevertheless, an optimists want to do something, they are despondent when thinking of difficult aspects and don't want to do anymore. I think this quote is really accurate and precious because opportunity just come once in lifetime. Thus, we have to grasp and believe we can do it despite facing hard problems. Opportunity is "never goes away, it just goes to someone else."

Journal 7: A best friend

Although my best friend and I are totally differences in hobbies and characteristic, but we really understand each others. Chi, my close friend, is outgoing, humorous, ambitious and tomboyish, while i'm really quite and kind of boring person. This is because i'm not good at making friends and speaking to others.  Chi always like doing weird things. Once time, I took her to school by my motorbike, suddenly she covered my eyes by her hands. I shouted out loud "Ahhh'' ahhhhhhh are you crazy Chiii", luckily there were no other motorbikes beside me. Nevertheless, she is so forward girl, when other people do somethings wrong to her, she tell them directly, whereas I just keep and forgive people's faults if not seriously because i'm afraid of making other people feel sad. Also, our opinions are different, "hey Chi, this guy's so cute" I said, "what? he looks dumb" Chi said, then we contended together to the end. I think that maybe our differences couple to create a perfect friendship, sometimes we also have an argument but that makes us more understanding each others

Journal 6: If animals could talk.

If animals could talk, it would be interesting in talking to them. I feel curious about their voice, thought, emotion and attitude when communicating with the animal. If they could talk, there are a lot of questions that I want to ask.
I want to ask dog why my pair of shoes usually have only one.
I want to ask cat why you always hide your natural calling.
I want to ask bird why you fly away when I'm approaching.
I wan to ask snake your mouth is big enough.
I want to ask cow how you feel when you are taken fresh milk by farmer.
Finally, I want to ask crocodile that are you hungry now?

Journal 5:Bong Hong Cai Ao( A Rose for Your Pocket)

I like fast and catchy rhymth so my recently favorite songs are Teenage Dream, Love the Way You Lie, I'm Yours and so on. However, thinking over again, from the depth of my heart, so I this beautiful Vietnamese song is about mother, I used to hear this song and didn't like it because i thought it was so sad and boring and my mom was always with me, so why i had to heat it. But now every sentence and every word touch my soul and i could not control my...when hearing this song.
In mother's day, people whose mothers are still alive have a red roses on their pockets, and white roses to whose mothers pass away. "Mother is a gentle stream, a fairy song, a shade on a hot day and the moon and the stars." " one day, when your beloved mother passes away," you life " like a flower without the sun, like a child without smiles, you will think you can't grow up anymore, it will be the night sky wihout stars".
To whom have a red rose on your pocket, please be happy and have you ever said to your mom that I Love You? If not, DO IT RIGHT NOW.

Old Fear.

I really like animals, except snake which is my most haunted.I have never experienced a real snake in my house, I remember that there was a small pond in my garden4 years ago. My father raised a lot of different sorts of fish.Days by days, we did not know why there were only few fishes in the pond. At first, we thought that maybe wild cats or rats ate the fish, but one day my mother watered her flowers that neared the pond. She saw something lifting up the water, she thought it was a dried branch of tree, so she did not  notice it. However, when "that dried tree" was moving, my mother screamed and ran away.My father and I rushed to my mother, I opened my mouth and was shock that a green snake( not big but not small size), the culprit of eating those fishes, was moving in the pond. My father immediately got a sharp-knife and fishing net, his hand was trembling when he took the snake out and quickly covered the net by a top of the pot. Then, he put in on the ground and used the knife to chop it in half. My mother did not willing to that, she continues chopping it into small pieces. That is my most fear but when retelling about it, it is kind of fun.

Weather.

Vietnam is a tropical country, so there are only two seasons: sunny season from December to July, and other is rainy season from August to November. Thus, I just have only two options. I, myself, don't like rain, so I really enjoy sunny season which the best time for traveling or going to the beach. Especially, January to April are the period of times that not only the climate is really genial and pleasant but also it is a time of important festival of the year, Tet Holidays. In this season,I can feel the warmth of the sun, see the green grass, flowers and trees that are blooming, and people are eager and prepared greeting to Lunar New Year.

GETTING AROUND.

One of my friend said that living in the US without car is likely you have no legs. I think that;s true because if I own a car, I can go anywhere i like. So, I don't have to wait for the bus and take a long travel. My cousin lives in Santa Ana, it takes only 20 minutes to Fullerton by car, while taking bus is 2 and a half  hours. That is really a long time. Thus, owning a car is convenience and safe time. One day i will be buying a car but I have to the pass test, especially driving test.

Orange County's transportation  system is much better than transportation in my home country. Unlike in The US, the road in Vietnam is small, is usually crowded of people and chaotic. Also, the bus systems in the US  always be on time and especially is prior for the handicapped, children and expecting women. In contrast, bus systems in my home country often comes later or earlier and there is no the automatic lift for the handicap.

Journal 1

Hi everyone! I am a Vietnamese girl and my name is Tram. I am a only child but I have been an orphan for 5 months that likely seemed several years that changed my whole life forever.

I came to the US last Autumn and enrolled to ALP. All ALP teachers are really nice and enthusiastic. Thus, my English has improved better, except Speaking. Because I am normally not good at speaking as well as conversation with others. Therefore, Speaking English is more difficult to communicate. However, I enjoy learning English and the more I think hard, the more I should try.
